Tournament Work Team Requirements
At any KRVA-sanctioned tournament, teams are expected
to provide the following individuals as part of a “work team”:
- A “Qualified” OR Certified Scorekeeper
- A competent R2 (certification
no longer required)
- 2 lines judges
- An individual to use the “flip score”
NOTE: In accordance with USAV and KRVA policies, an IMPACT certified
coach is expected to be present at the court with the team at ALL times during
the tournament, even when the team is “working.”
The following CHANGES have been made to the KRVA Junior “work team” requirements
for the 2003 season:
- No Certified R2 required – teams
need to provide a competent person
- One Certified Scorekeeper is
required per team – the individual must be 16 yrs or older. The
individual keeping score as part of the work team does not have to be the
certified
scorekeeper for the team; it can be a “qualified” person. However,
the team’s certified scorekeeper is responsible for making
sure the individual is competent. Referees may request “unqualified” scorekeepers
be replaced.
- Tournament Directors, coaches and
referees, should report problems with work teams on the Post-Tournament
Report (each TD must submit one to KRVA following their event). If
you want to keep these “lowered” requirements, you need to “police” yourselves.
NOTE: Even though KRVA work team officiating guidelines have been relaxed,
this does not change the need for a team to meet the JO team officiating
requirements set forth by USAV (or another region’s requirements for
out-of-region events). If USAV requires 2 certified scorekeepers for
JOs, a team will have to meet that requirement. KRVA will
consider holding a clinic at the end of the season to assist teams
in meeting
those requirements.
