Congratulations to 2008 KRVA Girls' HP Camp selections!

We look forward to a very successful camp this summer, led by Charlene Johnson-Tagaloa of USA Volleyball, the 2008 USA Volleyball Select A1 Program Head Coach.

KRVA High Performance is pleased to announce the summer camp roster, comprised of 36 athletes, 24 in the Youth age group and 12 in the Select age group.

Payment Details:
KRVA will extend the opportunity to the parents to pay the total camp cost of $450 in two installments. The first installment of $225 will have to be postmarked by Monday, June 23rd. The second installment of $225 will have to be postmarked by Tuesday, July 15th. Any player whose payment has not been received in full by Saturday, July 19th, unless alternative arrangements have been made, will be considered in default and will give up their spot to the next available alternate, should one be available. Any questions regarding payment or payment arrangements should be directed to HP@KRVA.org.

Schedule:
The camp will be held at Lock Haven University from Sunday, August 3rd to Wednesday, August 6th. Here is the complete camp schedule, with locations. The location for training sessions is TBD. As a reminder, the camp fee includes room and board, so no additional cost will be incurred by players in these respects.

Roommate Assignments:
KRVA will try its best to honor any roommate requests or assignments. No single rooms are available and all rooms will be double or higher occupancy. Please forward any roommate requests to HP@KRVA.org. By default, players in the Select group will be paired with other players in the same age group and same principle will be followed for the Youth group.

Coaching/Staffing:
In addition to Charlene Johnson-Tagaloa, 6 assistant coaches from the ranks of college, club and HS volleyball will be assisting in our camp. The coaches assisting in our camp are hand picked and selected from a number of applicants, based on our HP coaching criteria. Camp staff at Lock Haven University will be available for any questions or concerns throughout the campers stay, regarding the rooms, meals, facilities. KRVA staff will be available on site as well for any questions or concerns. Campers will be introduced to all staff members at the onset of the camp.

Registration:
Registration for the 2008 KRVA HP Camp will occur in the McEntire Residence Hall from 12 pm to approximately 1.30 pm. There will be ample space to park behind the residence hall and you will not need a permit to park. Campers of driving age are not allowed to drive, due to insurance and liability issues. If a camper of driving age does need to drive, they will be permitted to drive only to and from the camp itself and will need to turn over their car keys to KRVA staffers at check-in time. Please contact HP@KRVA.org if these alternate arrangements need to be made.

Room Keys:
Room keys will be issued at check-in and should be turned in at check-out time. The fee for a missing room key is $50. This fee will be invoiced to KRVA and the parents of a camper would be responsible for reimbursement to KRVA of any such fee.

Equipment:
Your camp equipment should include knee pads, long and short sleeved T-shirts, volleyball or all court sport (non-marking) shoes. KRVA will be providing all campers with a complimentary apparel item at check-in time, based on the T-shirt size from tryouts.

Dorm Rooms:
No bed linens will be provided. Campers must bring their own bed linens, pillows, blankets, towels and any personal toiletry. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms, however, they are in the common areas of the dormitory. Bathroom areas are shared. Rooms are NOT air-conditioned, thus, fans are highly recommended for personal usage. The weather at Lock Haven in the summer tends to be sufficiently cool in the evenings, due to its location, but fans will be a needed item during the daily resting periods in the rooms.

Meals:
Lock Haven University will be providing the meal services at Bentley Dining Hall. Several options will be available daily at meal times, including special choices (vegetarian, vegan).

Medical Insurance:
The KRVA HP Camp will be a KRVA sanctioned event. As an extension of that fact, the campers will be subject to same medical release and insurance rules as they would be at any other KRVA sanctioned event, i.e., tryouts or a tournament.

Emergencies:
Please note the following phone number for any on-campus emergencies or issues: Public Safety    (570) 484-2278. The number can be reached from on-campus phones by simply dialing extension 2278.
