------------------------------------------
The USA NATIONAL SCOREKEEPER certification is for those individuals who attend the Adult Championships and who want to keep score at this event. USA national scorekeepers are considered experts in keeping score and are certified to keep score at all USAV events, except the Open Championships which uses the FIVB score sheet. Both new and recertifying USA national scorekeepers must follow requirements set by USAV.

REGISTRATION – All certified scorekeepers must be members in good standing with the Region. For now, being “in good standing” simply means that any registration paperwork and information is up-to-date, and all required fees are paid. All new and recertifying scorekeepers must be registered before participating as a scorekeeper in any event and before any ratings. It is recommended that all certified scorekeepers actively keep score on matches throughout the season. It is also recommended that USA national scorekeepers maintain involvement by giving clinics, rating scorekeepers, helping clubs train their scorekeepers, and acting as scorekeeper monitors for events requiring monitors.

PRIOR CERTIFICATION – New USA national scorekeepers must have been certified as a regional scorekeeper for two seasons.

AGE – New USA national scorekeepers must be 18 years of age or older as of September 1 of the current season.

REQUIREMENTS – The requirements for a New USA national scorekeeper are lengthy, so it is best to contact the scorekeeper chairperson for specifics before December 15 of the current season, scorekeeper@krva.org . Recertifying USA national scorekeepers will need to complete additional requirements as directed, such as clinic and/or test, only if specifically notified by the scorekeeper chairperson.

SPECIAL – Any regional scorekeeper or USAV junior national scorekeeper seeking to upgrade to a new USA national scorekeeper certification must obtain approval from the scorekeeper chairperson before starting the process. The deadline is December 15 of the current season, email scorekeeper@krva.org.
